True Blood follows the life of Sooky Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), a waitress living in Bon Temps, Louisiana, who is anything but a normal southern girl. Sookie is telepathic and bombarded by people’s thoughts until she meets Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), who she can’t read because he is a vampire. In the world of True Blood, the vampires have recently “come out of the coffin” and can survive on synthetic blood, called TruBlood (though not all of them mainstream like Bill). The HBO series is based on The Southern Vampire Series by Charlaine Harris. True Blood was renewed for a second season last year after only two episodes aired - it was a bonafide success. |

Time travel, Egyptian symbolism, and a dead man walking - those are only a few of the themes fans are discussing after the Lost season five finale last week. There’s more than one of everything. That was the title and pretty much summary of the season finale of Fringe on Tuesday - another you, another me, another world. Star Trek fans around the world waited in anticipation for the new Star Trek installment, released last Friday. Some fans questioned it would live up to the hype. J.J. Abrams, the director, was admittedly never a Star Trek fan. He made the movie not with the fans in mind, but rather movie-goers in general. However, this movie has seemed to unite fans and non-fans across the globe, earning $72.5 million opening weekend. |

Life has only gotten more complicated for Mary as she tries to balance the demands of her job with her ever-stressful and emotionally draining family life. After the dust settles over the FBI ordeal and her traumatic kidnapping, Mary still has her hands full with a barrage of newly relocated witnesses. To help with her caseload, Mary relies on the support of her loyal, minutiae-obsessed partner, Marshall Mann, and her often ineffectual but well-meaning boss Stan McQueen. |
